Santina's journey from suffering to liberation through yoga has led her to a deep and real study of yoga as a living practice. San has completed the primary, 2nd and 3rd series of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Series and is fully certified in the Nicky Knoff Yoga System. Through tender endurance with each asana of her advanced Ashtanga practice, San has developed an intimacy with the physiology and spirituality of our human form. She is an authorised Gestalt therapist (Masters of Gestalt Therapy) and has extensive experience in Ayurvedic approaches to health and nutrition. Santina is known for her direct approach to teaching, her dynamic energy, rawness and compassion. She loves to work with you and nothing makes her day more than making a difference for the better. San’s commitment to a life of process, practice and courage makes rich soil from which to provide meaningful guidance. Santina augments her yoga teaching with her work as a therapist, holding a Masters of Gestalt therapy – a humanistic therapy focusing on sharpening an individual's awareness of emotions and behaviors to bring light to what really is. Santina also holds degrees in Law/Arts, and has attended as Assistant to Certified Ashtanga Teachers Kino McGregor and Tim Feldmann on their international retreats.
Santina focuses on energetic alignment and provides technical advice on postures and vinyasa's according to the individuals students level of practice. Santina understands that a students practice is based upon their physical ability, therefor accommodates all levels – from the complete beginner to more accomplished students.
Each student treated like an individual in Santina’s class. Santina’s care, attention and guidance is offered to each student, with much personal attention. The number of students is limited so every student is supported in their practice and their process.
'With each breath and in every moment we are in a process of evolving from who we have been to who we are becoming. Blending yoga asana and the Gestalt Method, I work using an experiential, dialogical and integrative approach to self-discovery and embodied awareness. Through compassionate understanding, confirmation to present-moment experience and heighted awareness, we can complete what is unfinished from the past and open pathways to our emerging creative selves. Understanding how our inner processes can function to sustain disruptive patterns, as well as challenge and support the possibilities for creative problem solving, can lead to deliberate actions that transform our relationship to ourselves, to others and to life!” San xxx
Through the the gentle unpacking of our bodies and our we develop more understanding, self-acceptance and compassion for ourselves. Through this transformational process we enabled, we are embodied and we are alive! And through much dedication and practice we are able to extend this same level of compassionate kindness to those around us and hence, we bring more Peace and Harmony into the world.
